BANGALORE: Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), one of country’s premier educators in high-end 3D Animation and Visual Effects, on Monday announced the launch of its fourth centre in the city at Basaveshwarnagar. The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to train students on the latest 3D Animation and Visual Effects technology. The launch was graced by Satish Reddy, MLA for South region Bommanahalli. The new centre will offer advanced cinematics career courses such as, AD3D EDGE, AD3D NEXT, VFX Plus besides other short term courses such as Max Pro and Maya Pro.Ram Warrier, business head, MAAC said, “India’s animation and gaming industry is currently valued at 739 million dollars with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 32 per cent between calendar years 2005 and 2009. The domestic share of animation revenue stands at 30 per cent which amounts to only 0.6 per cent of global consumption of gaming and animation according to a study of ASASSOCHAM and Deloitte. Hence, at MAAC, we strive to offer students comprehensive education in the growing field of 3D Animation and VFX. We shall always try to better ourselves and provide a global window to the students. I wish the new centre will be an opportunity for the students to achieve superior training and extensive curriculum.” Ecstatic at the launch of a new centre, Suchita N, director said, “We are proud to announce the inauguration of our new MAAC centre in Bangalore. The 3D animation and VFX industry is growing at an exhilarating pace. This is one of the most sought after career amongst the youth. Especially, since India has now become an outsourcing hub for international projects. The requirement for trained manpower has increased manifold. I am sure that our new centre would empower the students to encompass the strategic areas of this industry, and be a specialist in the world of 3D Animation and VFX.”Founded in 2001, MAAC offers industry relevant career courses on 3D Animation, Visual Effects and degree courses in association with IGNOU. It has more than 75 centres across 40 cities within the country.
