Julia Roberts is returning to the silver screen with her portrayal of Queen Clementianna in 'Mirror Mirror'.

New Delhi: Hollywood director Tarsem Singh has decided to re-tell the story of 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' in his film 'Mirror Mirror'. The film features Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer, Nathan Lane, and Sean Bean in pivotal roles.

The basic storyline showcases an ill-fated princess Snow White, played by Lily Collins, whose stepmother (Julia Roberts) doesn't want her to ascend to the throne. However, the fate has something else in the store for the beautiful princess; she catches the attention of a prince. The ruthless queen forces Snow White to live in a jungle where she meets a group of rebellious dwarfs. Slowly and steadily, she builds strength to reclaim her birthright.

The story is well known throughout the world and thus the director will face a difficult task to tell the story in a lucid and innovative way. This is not the first time Hollywood is making films based on famous stories, but the storytellers have always tried to come up with their interpretation of the story. Therefore, Tarsem Singh will have to present the story with a lot of insightful information.

Tarsem Singh began his career as a director in the year 2000 with 'The Cell', but success remained elusive to him till 'Immortals' in 2011. Even 'Immortals' was not a huge success, but critics noticed Tarsem Singh’s penchant for detailing. So, he will again be under the scanner for his treatment of an old and famous story.

Lily Collins is playing Snow White. She started her film career with 'The Blind Side'. Later, she did a side role in 'Priest' before getting noticed in 'Abduction'. Snow White's character will require her to go the extra mile as she needs to match up to the common audience's imagination of the good princess.

Julia Roberts is returning to the silver screen with her portrayal of Queen Clementianna. Roberts is not known for playing dark characters, so the fans will be excited to see her as the evil queen.

Recent success of Hollywood films such as 'MI4' and 'Titanic 3D' in India may prompt the audiences to go for 'Mirror Mirror'.####
