Best things come in small packages. This cliche definitely holds good for the unconventional singer Kailash Kher, who was in the city on Saturday with his band (Kailasa) members to mesmerise Hyderabadis with his soulful voice and music. The sudden and aggressive downpour on Saturday also did not stop his fans to head to Shilpa Kala Vedika as he performed to a packed auditorium. “Music is a friend of all. But live performance gives most satisfaction to a music lover,” said Kher. Humble and modest, he not only sang some of his most popular songs, but also punctuated his performance with a lot of funny moments, where he tried having a heart to heart connection with the audience, and succeeded in getting peals of laughter. The singer, who seemed so confident on stage and who has reached places in his career, shared his story of how he evolved, saying, “Earlier I was a failure in everything, so much so that I wondered why God created me. And, when I went to Mumbai, I was extremely intimidated by everyone around me. But, in the end I realised that only talent matters.”Even though this was his first time performing in the city, the singer already had a former connection since some of his music videos were vshot in Hyderabad. “We shot the videos in places like Golconda Fort and many other places,” said the singer, adding, “The response that I have received from people here is intense and overwhelming.” Right from peppy numbers like Tauba Tauba and Chak De Phatte to songs like Teri Deewani, Saiyyan and Allah Ke bande that touched everyone’s heart, Kher kept everyone involved througout the concert.
