Govt seeks World Bank's assistance for building roads
Bihar government on Thursday sought World Bank assistance for linking areas with habitations of more than 250 people with all season roads. The assistance was sought during a meeting of World Bank country Director in India Oano Ruhul with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna, an official release said.

The assistance was sought during a meeting of World Bank country Director in India Oano Ruhul with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna, an official release said.

They discussed in detail the programme of connecting habitations of more than 250 people with concrete roads. The Nitish government, which has constructed quality roads across the state, announced its new initiative while presenting government's report card on November 25, 2012 of constructing all season road in habitations of 250 population.

The chief minister told the World Bank representative that the state government intended to open one plus two level high school in every panchayat for widening educational base in the state. He also mentioned about a panchayat bhawan in every panchayat and a centre for physically handicapped, old and widow in every sub-division.

The chief minister made a plea to the apex bank to provide financial assistance for these projects. Later, a meeting of the World Bank officials was held with senior officials of the state government including Chief Secretary Ashok Kumar Sinha.
