BANGALORE: Gautam Raja, on a visit to Bangalore will quite naturally, share his talent as a playwright by conducting a workshop for budding writers at Jagriti from 10 am to 5 pm, from September 30 to October 2. Bangalore born, Gautam Raja, is a playwright who has been producing and performing plays; and has earned recognition in India and London, UK. His works range from highly successful short plays such as Pub Crawl to short, sharp slivers that lay open the human condition aptly titled Shards, to full-length plays.His published work includes The Invisible River by Samuel French Ltd. London, and a collection of plays, Damini the Damager and Other Plays, by Unisun Publications. His play Vaidehi was selected by the Lark Play Development Center, New York City, as one of the eight plays to be showcased at their Playwrights’ Week, in September 2006. The Clearing was chosen by Mallya Aditi International School to celebrate 25 years of that illustrious institution. Gautam has written to a specific brief with TheatreScience, a UK-based theatre production company, which has involved intensive research and collaboration with scientists from the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).
