HYDERABAD: Performing this Thursday at Hard Rock Cafe is the all-male band, One Night Stand.Their favourite tunes include retrorock on the lines of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, CCR (or Credence Clearwater Revival), and Rolling Stones.But, these five guys are not your regular long-haired, earring-sporting Axl Rose wannabes.The band’s vocalist is Kartik Chintamani, executive producer - MTV.The drummer is Rahul Malhotra, country marketing manager of Procter & Gamble.On the lead guitar is Farzad Variava, copywriter with Ambience Publicis.Back-up vocals are provided by Mastek India’s (and IIM Ahmedabad’s) Shagun Harit, who also plays the rhythm guitar.And on the bass is Poopsie a.k.a Padmanabhan, a manager with software company Intelinet.As they juggle between their careers their music cover a variety of genres ranging from Soft Rock to Rock n’ Roll, throwing in some Reggae mixed with a little Contemporary and some Retro, a touch of Blues, a shout of Pop and even a bit of some thumping Disco.The crowd and fan following is widely varied, with people being anything between 16 and 70 years.Known to bring an original twist into each track, the band never fails to surprise.Watch them Live at Hard Rock Café on Thursday, November 11, from 9 pm onwards.
