BNAGALORE: Karnataka High Court on Tuesday expressed displeasure over the manner in which the CID had conducted the inquiry into the alleged irregularities committed by the Karnataka Public Services Commission (KPSC) during 1998, 1999 and 2003 and said it would have to hand over the investigation to the CBI if the CID could not investigate the matter properly.
The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice H G Ramesh observed that although there was such a hue and cry about the irregularities in the selection process the only thing the CID probed into was the false certificates submitted by some of the selected candidates. Asha Parveen, who is presently serving as a Tahsildhar, had filed an application before the court, requesting it to order a reinquiry into her case. She contended that before becoming the Tahsildar she had served as a subinspector for seven years and she had submitted the same caste certificate. The KPSC is trying to obtain the court's permission to prosecute her without verifying the discrepancies in their records or holding an inquiry into the issue.

The Division Bench held that the process would be initiated and adjourned the case after the KPSC sought some more time to make submissions.
