KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Thursday issued notices to the state government on a petition challenging the appointment of K A Hashim as the director of the State Council Educational Research and Training (SCERT). A Division Bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice P R Ramchandra Menon passed the order while considering a petition filed by K J Rossily of Palarivattom seeking to quash the appointment. The petitioner argued that the  K A Hashim does not have the sufficient qualification to hold the post. “As per the rules, one should have a PhD, MEd and 15 years of teaching experience, including 10 years teaching experience at a university.” The petitioner submitted that Hashim doesn’t have a PhD or MEd.
