GULBARGA: JD(S) state president H D Kumarswamy gave the impression of being confused on his perception on the BJP state government. During a press meet here on Tuesday, he initially praised CM D V Sadananda Gowda on his successful governance. He added that there was no lack of funds to solve drinking water and fodder problems in the state, as the Union had released sufficient funds. When pressed further, he claimed that he was only ‘quoting’ what the state government had stated and was not his personal opinion. The former CM added that the media had severely criticised Gowda’s state tours. On Gowda’s performance as CM, Kumaraswamy remarked that people could feel his presence in the state. “B S Yeddyurappa was successful in making a name under the guise of development. Welfare schemes like Aasare taken up by the then government to provide shelter for flood victims are still incomplete,” he said. To a query on the petition filed against him with Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah by social activist T J Abraham, the former chief minister reacted: “Who is Abraham?” Meawhile, in a press note issued in Bangalore, the former CM termed the four years of BJP rule as the “worst ever”. He remarked that infighting was the biggest achievement of the BJP. “There is no sign of administration in the state in the last four years. It’s ineptness in responding to the people in drought-hit areas was exposed.”
