While Americans are mourning the death of 49 people in the deadliest mass shooting in US history, fringe right-wing group Hindu Sena celebrated Donald Trump's 70th birthday at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The celebrations included red and blue paper hats, balloons, a life-size poster of Trump in a suit holding a rifle and a cake weighing seven kilos. However, the group observed a minute's silence before cutting the large cake.
About 20 members of group cut the three-tiered cake and held a piece up to a photo of Trump while singing "Happy Birthday to You."
They invited journalists to the gathering under a tent decorated for the celebrations.
Sena leader Vishnu Gupta said they were inspired by Trump's tough talk against Islamic militants, and called him the future "king of the United States." They also called him the "saviour of humanity" and "messiah against Islamic terror".
This is the second event the group has staged for Trump in New Delhi. Last month, a dozen members performed havan and chanted mantras asking gods to help Trump win the US presidential election.
Journalists and all those who attended the event shared pictures of the celebrations on social media and strangely there was no controversy.
Here's how social media users reacted to Hindu Sena celebrating Donald Trump's birthday.
I support Donald Trump but Hindu Sena really needs to cut the crap.— Sonam Mahajan (@AsYouNotWish) June 14, 2016

Tough to decide whether Hindu Sena is a dumb organization or does their Muslim hate make them do stupid things ???????? https://t.co/t5lTXDwMNK— Raghu Ram (@tweetfromRaghu) June 14, 2016
I don't blame Hindu Sena. When your own messiah turns out to be a paper tiger, you've no choice but to look outside for messiahs.— Shirish Kunder (@ShirishKunder) June 14, 2016
In the deep recess of a Bhakta's heart, Donald Trump is the new Narendra Modi.— Rahul Pandita (@rahulpandita) June 14, 2016
