Hockey has never been so different

CHENNAI:  The finals of the highly addictive, adrenaline-pumping inter-office Aeron Hockey Tournament was held recently in Chennai. It was organised by Build Craft India and Herman Miller, 100 or more hockey players from 24 teams went chair-to-chair vying for the championship title in five-a-side match covering preliminary rounds, semi-finals and the big finale. Space Warriors Chennai won the final showdown by a goal against Ambience Rangers Delhi.The Aeron Hockey Championship is a match played with each player seated on the famous Aeron Chair by Herman Miller. The sport is based on field hockey where true design junkies are seen hitting pucks in a specially designed Herman Miller hockey court. The two rules of the game are: each player has to remain seated on the Aeron chair through the match and will not be allowed high sticking. The zonal Chennai winning team walked away with 10 Aeron Chairs and an opportunity to compete at the Aeron Hockey Pan Asian Championship, scheduled for  September 2011 in Honkong.
