Tikamgarh(Madhya Pradesh): In a suspected case of honour killing, a young couple was shot dead in Tikamgarh village of Madhya Pradesh, police said here on Thursday.
A 17 year old girl and her boyfriend were shot on the girl's wedding day on Thursday. The girl went missing just a day before her wedding day. Police have launched a probe. Police sources say they suspect it is a case of honour killing but other angles are also being investigated
"Post mortem report is awaited at the moment and only then the cause of death will be confirmed," Additional Police Superintendent Sunil Tiwari told IANS.
"Bodies of the young couple was found in Hanupura, which falls under Mohangarh police station. The couple's affair was widely talked about in the village which could have caused honour killing," Tiwari added.
The couple has been identified as Badi Raja and Bhan singh.
