Bathinda/Ferozepur: On his "Discover India" journey across Punjab, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, one of the most eligible bachelors in the country, said that he would soon get married.

When asked about his plans for marriage, the 38-year-old scion of Nehru-Gandhi family said that it was not on his priority due to his political engagements but now he is sure to "get married soon."

"I will get married soon," he told reporters during a road show in Bathinda district.

Focusing primarily on the youth, Rahul on Tuesday made a strong pitch for youths to come forward and share politics for a "brighter and progressive India".

Addressing the students of Dev Samaj College for Women in Ferozepur, he said, "Women have always been centre of the growth of a nation and evil like female foeticide can only be eliminated if women raise their voice against it.”

Exhorting the youths to take part in the politics, he said young mind can think of improving and advancing in life.

"If you cannot think of improving and advancing the country you should not join politics," Rahul added.

The young leader turned out to be a big hit among the youth, particularly girls, as the students of the college lined up since morning to get a glimpse of him.
