A Mumbai court on Monday allowed Indrani Mukerjea's former driver and the main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case Shyamvar Rai to turn approver in the case.
Rai who was Indrani Mukerjea's former driver is the only witness in the Sheena Bora murder case.
Rai had moved an application in May 2016 seeking to turn an approver in return for a pardon.
Earlier, the CBI had said that it has no problemn in allowing Shyamvar Rai as the prosecution witness in the case.
Shyam Rai's claims could directly indict Indrani Mukerjea for the murder of Sheena Bora.
Shyam Rai had also confessed that he along with Indrani and Sanjeev Khanna had strangled Sheena and killed her in April 2012 inside a car.
He even led the Mumbai Police to the spot in Raigad where Sheena was buried.
Indrani's husband and former media baron Peter Mukerjea was also held in November 2015 on charges of conspiracy.
