HYDERABAD: After crying for more than 50 minutes, a 3-month-old infant died on Monday due to lack of feeding as the mother went out to drop off her 5-year-old elder son at school. The incident took place at Vithalraonagar near Ambedkarnagar in Alwal police station limits.Soon, rumours spread among the locals that the mother had killed her male baby but police dismissed the rumours saying that the infant died after moaning for more than 50 minutes for feeding. The 3-month-old, N Dhanush Reddy, was the younger son of N Krishan Reddy, a worker at a tent house in Musheerabad, and N Anita Reddy, a housewife.Around 9 am on Monday, leaving Dhanush Reddy alone on the bed, Anita went out to drop her elder son, Nitish Reddy, at his school where he is studying LKG.On returning home after an hour, Anita noticed that Dhanush was lying unconscious. She took the boy to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.“We received information from locals that Anita killed the child and we rushed to the spot. Our preliminary investigation revealed that the baby boy died due to lack of proper feeding since morning. We also suspect that the toddler moaned for more than 50-minutes seeking feeding. He died of starvation and high temperature,’’ said Pushpam Kumar, inspector of Alwal police.Police registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC.
