‘Flying Beast’ Gaurav Taneja and Ritu Rathee have been going through a tumultuous phase in their marriage. Amid rumours of separation and accusations of infidelity against Taneja, Rathee addressed the situation in an Instagram video. She acknowledged the challenges in their marriage and admitted to seeking guidance from spiritual guru Premanand Govind Sharan. She also urged people to stop labelling the YouTuber as a “cheater” and offered a reality check on their divorce.
Rathee shared the video with the caption, “Reality,” and tagged Taneja in her post.
The video opens to show Rathee confirming that she is indeed the woman who was heard seeking guidance from spiritual guru Premanand Govind Sharan in the now-viral video. “Was that me? Yes. But some people needed a little spice. By zooming in on my face, they exclaimed, ‘Oh, that’s her! That’s her voice! We are in Ritu’s army!’”

She added, “Am I an abla nari [helpless woman]? No, I am not. Reality check: The maid who comes to your house is abla nari [helpless woman]. She faces countless hardships in her home. I really wish you would go to her house, help resolve her issues, and tell her, ‘We are in your army.’”
After taking a deep pause, a visibly emotional Rathee continued, “I am capable of nurturing my children.”
She also acknowledged how Taneja helped shape her into the woman she is today: “…the same man during these eight years made me equally capable that I can nurture my children alone,” asking, “How many men in India have made their wives equally capable?”
“Has there ever been a time when you’ve laid your pain, doubts, or dilemmas before your God? Even I did. It was a personal question,” Rathee, a captain on Airbus A320, expressed.
“What relationship is free from hurt, whether it’s with your parents, siblings, friends, or even a husband and wife? Is there anyone who hasn’t been hurt at some point so much that they felt the need to go to God and cry? Even I did,” she admitted.
Rathee emphasised, “Whatever it is, it’s a personal issue for me. If I wanted to make it public, my dear Ritu’s army, I have Instagram to announce it.”
“There are many things that can sting between a husband and wife. Something must have happened. It hurt him this time, and it hurt me too. He thought he was right, and I thought I was right. He became stubborn, and so did I,” she went on to say.

“But does that mean that you will tell me what kind of a man he was?” she asked, adding, “There are very few people who deserve respect. I know that man inside out. I don’t need to hear about his principles from you. I don’t need to hear from you whether he is genuine, whether he was loyal. I have seen him go through every situation.”
“I have been away from social media for over a year now. I don’t regret it,” said Rathee who has over 1.6 million followers on Instagram.
She added that it is our society’s problem to invade others’ lives, often ignoring their own problems. She emphasised that she doesn’t need support from anyone as she is not a helpless woman and has not been wronged. She also highlighted how, in joint families, women were often unjustly blamed for problems, and now, as society evolves, men are frequently held responsible when a woman separates from them.
“It’s not about man or woman. We all are the same. We all have the same traits. Just because two people are getting separated, it doesn’t mean that the woman is right or the man is right. Both can be right in some ways and wrong in others,” Rathee said.
The mother of two further said that the question was not to the world but to her Shree ji and she is not ashamed of it, stating, “People who have made it big and so called my ‘hitkaris or Ritu’s army’ should be ashamed. And thanks to people who watched the video and kept silent thinking that there would other side too. There would be more to it.”
“I made this video because what I learned today is that sometimes silence can be a great injustice. If I don’t break my silence today, it could be a huge wrong for someone else. I cannot forget the eight years I spent with that man, and I respect him for that,” she said towards the end of the video.
With folded hands, she urged, “Kindly stay out of it.
