The Hezbollah has denied a role in the blasts and has threatened of revenge.

New Delhi: Sources close to the government said on Friday that the Israeli ambassador did not raise the Iran issue at all during his meeting with External Affairs Minister SM Krishna.

"Iran was not raised by the Israel ambassador when he met the external affairs minister, nor was it discussed during the meeting. The report is totally baselsess," they said referring to reports that the ambassador had raised up the issue during the meeting.

News reports had suggested that Israel had requested India to help sponsor a resolution against Iran in the UN Security Council and that India had agreed to the same.

An Israeli diplomat's wife was injured in a car blast earlier this week in New Delhi, which Israel blamed on Iran and the Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, the Hezbollah on Thursday denied Israeli accusations that the group was behind the attacks on Israeli missions in India and Georgia.

The group claimed that it would be taking revenge soon, but "not against Israeli soldiers, diplomats or ordinary Israelis".
