GUNTUR: YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched his Odarpu Yatra in Guntur district from Tadepalli on Sunday.Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that the Congress high command was trying to tarnish the image of his father and former chief minister Rajasekhara Reddy.He accused the Congress leadership of joining hands with the opposition Telugu Desam to politically weaken him. The Kadapa MP said his roadside meetings as part of his Yatra were drawing people in large numbers due to several welfare schemes implemented by his father YSR. The Kiran Kumar Reddy government had shelved several welfare programmes initiated by YSR. Works on several irrigation projects taken up under Jalayagnam had come to a halt due to non-allocation of funds. The people who were vexed with the Congress regime, are eager to see the YSRC in power, he said. In the first phase of Odarpu Yatra, Jagan will cover eight constituencies in 18 days. YSRC leaders Alla Ra makrishna Reddy, Marri Rajasekhar and others were present on the occasion.
