The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday transferred several IAS officers, including those who held key portfolios. Besides, Collectors of five districts - Chennai, Krishnagiri, Tirupur, Pudukottai and Karur have also been reassigned.
As part of the reshuffle, posts of a few IAS officials were swapped.
J Jayakanthan, Controller of Examinations of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission will now assume charge as the Collector of Chennai district. He replaces S Jayanthi, who will step into the shoes of V Shobana, District Collector of Karur.
Pooja Kulkarni, Joint Commissioner (Health), Chennai Corporation, will swap offices with District Collector of Krishnagiri, CN Maheswaran. Similarly, G Govindaraj, Additional Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, will switch roles with District Collector of Tirupur M Mathivanan.
C Manoharan, Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies will exchange posts with District Collector of Pudukottai V Kalaiarasi. Present Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board Secretary/ Chairman Vikram Kapur will step in as the new Secretary of the Industries Department. He replaces N Sundaradevan, who retires on September 30.
J Radhakrishnan, Secretary, Special Programme Implementation, will assume charge as the new Secretary of the Health Department. He replaces Girija Vaidyanathan, who will join as Secretary/Chairperson and Managing Director of the Power Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (POWERFIN).
As part of the transfer orders, former Transport Commissioner P Senthil Kumar will take over as the Special Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department.
G Prakash, Joint Secretary, Industries Department, has been reassigned as the Director of Employment and Training. He replaces Mahesan Kasirajan, who will be taking over as the Director of Sugar and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Sugar Corporation Limited (TNSCL).
N Mathivanan, who holds the TNSCL post at present, will take over as Joint Secretary of Industries Department.
Director of Social Welfare B Jothi Nirmala has been transferred to assume charge as the Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Election Commission. She replaces Xavier Chrisso Nayagam, who will join as the new Director of Social Welfare.
Anil Meshram, Member Secretary, State Planning Commission will be the new Director of Agricultural Marketing and Agricultural Business.
Former Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments J Chandrakumar will assume charge as the Director of Land Reforms. M Balaji, former Collector of Virudhunagar district, will join as the Member Secretary of the State Planning Commission.
Hans Raj Verma, now serving as the Secretary/Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation Limited, has been transferred to join as Secretary, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department.
Kumar Jayant, Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department, has been transferred as the Project Director and Member Secretary, Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society.
