ERODE: Some unidentified persons have entered the house of an ENT specialist and former joint director for health Dr DG Ramamurthy here on Tuesday night and decamped with 14 sovereigns of jewels. It is stated that the burglars have gained entry into into the house at Periyar Nagar by breaking open the back door. They have looted 14 sovereigns of jewels kept in the bureau and escaped. Ramamurthy (77), who owned a clinic on Brough Road, was sleeping in a room on the front portion of the house and his wife Prema was sleeping in the hall when the theft occurred.On Wednesday morning, when Prema woke up and went to the room, she saw a person running from there.Later, she found that the safe had been tampered with and the jewels stolen.Police visited the spot and coducted enquiries.
