Thiruvananthapuram: A five-member team led by the Social Justice Department Director of Jharkhand have reached Kerala to take back the children who are now in the custody of the children's home in Palakkad.
On June 9, Thrissur Police have found a group of 28 students at a madrasa in Thrissur. The children, all boys, were from Bihar and was learning at an Islamic Study Centre that provides Quran training In Idukki District. They were in Idukki for almost a year.
PO George, Chairman of Child Welfare committee in Thrissur, said that the children did not have any proper documents and they are now being hosted at the government Children's Home Thrissur.
According to the officials their care taker was taking them home for vacation and fearing police intervention while transporting children, they got down at Thrissur and was trying for train tickets for another day. The people in the area tipped the police.
The team of Bihar Officials will visit these children in Thrissur and action will be taken to reunite them with their parents.
