New Delhi: The juvenile accused in the Ryan murder case had asked at least six of his friends to get poison or a knife for him to kill “some child” and was “relaxed” to know that conductor Ashok had been arrested for the murder. The Central Bureau of Investigation that has taken over the murder probe from Gurugram Police filed its chargesheet against the juvenile accused on Monday and made some new revelations.
The charge sheet was filed before the court of Additional Sessions Judge Jasbir Singh Kundu, which is treating the juvenile accused as an adult for allegedly murdering 7-year-old Pradhyuman Thakur.
Seven-year-old Pradhyuman’s body was found with the throat slit in a washroom of the Ryan International School in Gurugram on September 8, 2017. It triggered a national outrage and the police immediately arrested Ashok, a school bus conductor from the premises and “framed” him for the crime. However, the CBI later took over the case and arrested the Class 11 student of the same school for the murder and released Ashok.
On Monday, the CBI chargesheet revealed that the Class 11 student got to know of Pradhyuman’s death after finishing his examination and that he was relaxed after the Gurugram Police arrested Ashok for the crime.
Later, he went on to look up on the Internet for ways to “remove fingerprints” and cover his trail. While the Internet suggested he gets his palms damaged with acid, the juvenile accused refrained from doing so.
The chargesheet states that a total of six friends and classmates have given their statement that the accused was looking for poison and had asked them to bring it to school to kill a child so that the parent-teacher meeting and examinations were cancelled.
CBI, in its chargesheet has also reiterated its earlier stand that the Gurugram Police botched up the investigations. The investigation agency further states that conductor Ashok was forced to confess to the crime and then the police “did not conduct any investigation with regard to the fact stated by Ashok”.
The forensics department has also revealed that Ashok's fingerprints did not match with those lifted by the Gurugram Police from the crime scene.
The CBI probe has further revealed that a year before committing the murder, the accused had said that someone has mixed some substance in his water bottle and that he is feeling drowsy in order to avoid a mock examination. He ultimately managed to skip the examinations in February 2016.
On January 8, the court rejected a bail plea of the juvenile accused, imposed a fine of Rs 21,000 for "wasting the court's time" in baseless litigation and asked his father to deposit the amount.
