The Kerala Police will on Saturday continue the questioning of noted Malayalam actor Kalabhavan Mani's aides, including actors Jaffer Idukki and Tharikida Sabu. They are likely to be interrogated on Saturday afternoon.
This comes a day after revelation that a highly "dangerous" insecticide was found in the viscera samples of the Malayalam actor, adding to doubts that his death was not natural.
Traces of the insecticide 'Chlorpyrifos' were found in the samples, agencies reported, after they were sent to the Regional Chemical Examiner's Laboratory in Kochi for testing. Methyl and ethyl alcohol contents were also found.
Mani, 45, known for his award-winning performance in 'Vasantiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum', was undergoing treatment for liver and kidney diseases at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) for some time before his death on March 6.
Police had earlier registered a case of unnatural death after AIMS doctors told police that traces of methyl alcohol was found in his blood.
After doubts over the cause of death were raised by Mani's family, police questioned a few of Mani's aides. His wife Nimme rubbished reports that there were problems in the family.
"There were no family problems. You can ask anyone. There were no issues between us", she told reporters.
