THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cops investigating the gruesome murder of two youths near Karakulam have not made any headway so far. The police version that an issue related to the argument over the fuel efficiency of a bike owned by one of the victims resulted in the murder, remains illogical and unpalatable for the public. Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP A Akbar said that the argument may not seem reason enough to commit a murder. But in most cases a trifle issue was more than enough for committing a cold-blooded murder, reasoned the SP. He also made it clear that all the aspects would be brought under investigation. Nedumangad DySP K Mohammed Shafi told Express that no arrests were made so far, though there was no dearth of rumours on this matter. The investigation would reveal if there was any larger conspiracy behind the killings but brushed aside the allegation that a dalit organisation was behind the attack.
