BANGALORE: The Karnataka Small Scale and Industries Association (KASSIA) is all set to start a school of business management shortly.If everything goes as per plan, the concept of KASSIA School of Business Management will become a reality by next month. The KASSIA has signed an agreement with ICBMS, a Chennaibased educational institute which has a tie-up with Kuvempu University.The course will cover entrepreneural development, business management skills, succession planning, industrial engineering, modernisation and functional aspects.“The initiative will be a boon for small and medium entrepreneurs who want to know about industrial laws and business skills,” says Prakash N Raikar, president, KASSIA.According to Raikar, the KASSIA School of Business Management will be established in the KASSIA premises in Bangalore. “Admission will be open not only to entrepreneurs but also to those who want to become entrepreneurs. We collect fee prescribed by the Kuvempu University,” said Raikar.The courses to be offered by the Kaasia School of Business Management are - one year courses: EMBA-Finance, Marketing, Projects, Systems, two-year courses: MHRM, MBA-Finance, Marketing and Personnel Management.“The three-year BBA course is in the final stages of approval by the university,” he said.The certificate courses will deal with writing a winning proposal, how to handle customer’s objection, dos and don’ts for small enterprises, ABC of inventory, just in time (JIT), production planning, hiring of human resources, implication of sales tax, VAT, etc.“The duration of these courses varies from one course to other. The fee will be highly subsidised. For example, the fee for MBA would be a few thousands.Infycareer will a knowledge partner,” said B L Srinivas, Secretary, KASSIA.Meanwhile, Prof S A Bari, Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University said the proposal is still in initial stage. He said, “Course will commence from either from August or December as it is a distance learning programme. efforts are on to formulate the entire course as the syllabus has to be developed.”
