New Delhi: A Mumbai fast-track court is all set to frame charges on Friday in the horrific Keenan-Reuben case of October 2011.
The two youngsters, Keenan Santos and Reuben Fernandez, were stabbed to death by a mob for taking on a man who harassed their female friends. The duo was attacked with choppers by a group of four. While Keenan died on the spot, Reuben died in a hospital later.
The victims along with five others, including three girls, had gone to a bar to have dinner. After a while, they came out of the restaurant and were standing near a pan-shop, when the incident occurred, the police had said.
After a public uproar, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan had promised strict action and fast tracked the case.
The charges were expected to be filed in April, but the court adjourned the matter to a further date due to some technicalities.
