Kolkata: Christ Church school to re-open on Friday

Kolkata: The Christ Church School in Kolkata's Dum Dum will reopen on Friday after 15 days of closure. The decision was taken at a meeting of the governing body held in school on Thursday, which was attended by the Arch Bishop of Kolkata Diocese.

The principal of the school, Helen Sirkar was not present at the meeting. Church of North India (CNI) authorities said that the principal would resume office once the school re-opens.

School authorities are expected to announce new exam schedule for students after the school reopens. The completion of repair work to the damaged parts of the school is likely to take some more time.

The school was closed after some parents and outsiders ransacked it s properties on September 12. The violence followed the death of a class V student who was allegedly bullied by her seniors inside school premises.
