The BJP state committee on Sunday decided to flag off a campaign to expose what it termed the UDF Government’s policy of helping land encroachers.

As part of this, the party will stage a protest march from Nelliampathy to the Palakkad District Collectorate in September, BJP state president V Muraleedharan said.

The party was planning strong agitations and campaigns to lodge the public’s protest against the government-aided land grabbing across the state, he said.

The state committee also discussed the increasing influence being wielded by the Muslim League in the UDF Government, which, it said, was helping extremist elements, Muraleedharan said.  The BJP has formed a sub-committee of educational experts and top party leaders of the state to focus on the state’s controversy-ridden education sector, he said.

Party leaders P K Krishnadas and K Surendran are heading the sub-committee. The BJP is also organising a national-level seminar in October to raise the issues plaguing the education sector of the state at the national level.

The BJP will take the initiative to celebrate the birth anniversary of social reformer Ayyankali. The year-long celebrations will be launched in New Delhi this month-end and senior party leader Sushma Swaraj will inaugurate a function in Kerala in September, he said. The membership generation activities of the party will begin on August 20, he added.
