BANGALORE: The High Court on Thursday directed the Director of Land Records to look into the land records of the road which comes in Sy no 71 and 72 in Banashankari Temple Road and look into the ownership claims by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Banashankari temple.Former deputy mayor Srirame Gowda has filled a petition stating that the temple has encroached upon to the road and is now building a Raja Gopura.He further submitted that the even the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited is now eyeing the land.However, the temple authorities stated that sy no 71 and 72 land belongs to the temple and they are planning to build a Raja Gopura on this land but now the BMRCL is planning to lay tracks on the land.The division bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice Ashok B Hinchigeri directed the Director of Land Records to find out who the land belongs to, by September 25.The court told the temple authorities that if they are unable to produce the relevant documents on the property in two weeks, the property will be considered as a BBMP property.
