Left condemns blast, says talks must go on
Condemning the train blast, the Left party has asked the government to continue the dialogue with Pakistan.

New Delhi: Strongly condemning the blasts on the Samjhauta Express, the Left parties asked the government to continue the dialogue with Pakistan saying the attempt of the attack was to disrupt the peace process.

"It is an attempt to break up the good links that are being established with Pakistan. It is also aimed at

disrupting the communication links between the people of the two countries", CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan said.

He said the government should "persist with the dialogue" with Pakistan. "The talks should go on,” Bardhan

added.

The blasts came a day ahead of a three-day visit of Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri to India to hold talks with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and attend the meeting of Indo-Pak Joint Commission.

Forward Bloc General Secretary Debabrata Biswas expressed shock and condemned the terror attack and said the forces, which did not want good relations between the two countries, were behind the blasts.

"The dialogue must continue, otherwise it will be a victory for the terrorists".

Also condemning the blasts, RSP leader Abani Roy said the governments of both countries should strive to create a congenial atmosphere so that such incidents did not take place.

He also criticised the agencies responsible for security on the train that led to the loss of several

innocent lives.
