Understanding of GodWell, god to me is a sense of surrender. Beyond all effort, beyond all happiness, beyond all grief, you surrender to someone in complete trust. Perhaps, god is within myself, maybe god is love, or maybe just one’s conscience.Spiritual beliefsI don’t believe in idol worship. I respect religion and follow its good traditions, however I’m not superstitious — whatever applies rationally and provides significance to my conscience is how I see religion. The first film (Inidhu Inidhu) offer that I received was something that I never expected. I just got a call from a friend who asked me to tag along with her for an audition, I had no idea of what it was. But when I was offered to play the lead, I truly think it was god who made that call! Maybe, when you don’t expect too much, life gives you its dose of surprises.Spiritual practicesI go to the temple seeking peace and serenity, which helps me connect with my inner conscience.Pilgrimage sitesAlthough I do not travel to a lot of pilgrimage sites, I do enjoy visiting a lot of temples in Kerala. It’s my hometown and I find comfort there. I’m more of a small town, tiny temple-by-the-lake person than someone who would choose to take a trip to a place of worship with hundreds of people.Recently, I was at a friend’s beach house, and in the morning, happened to wake up rather early. So I decided to take a walk by myself to catch the sunrise, with no real contemplation as to how far the beach was or the dangers of walking alone. My mind was blank. I walked for what seemed an eternity and along the way, I truly felt a connection to my inner conscience.
