Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Tuesday filed his nomination papers for the Solapur Lok Sabha constituency.
Shinde filed his nomination papers at the collectorate in Solarpur in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and NCP president Sharad Pawar.
As Pawar is not contesting the Lok Sabha election from Madha (since he is elected to Rajya Sabha), former Deputy Chief Minister Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil has thrown his hat in the ring.
Mohite-Patil also filed his nomination papers for the Madha constituency in Solapur. The leaders later addressed a rally in Solapur.
