National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) sleuths from Maharashtra made their third visit to Kohinoor village of Basavakalyan taluk on Wednesday and questioned family members of Dayanand Patil, the lone injured in the Pune blast.
The team also visited Dayanand’s school and enquired with the teachers and School Development Monitoring Committee (SDMC) members about Dayanand’s behaviour and lifestyle.
The schoolteachers could not provide much information as they were newly transferred from other places. Later, the team visited Dayanand’s house and questioned his family about his circumcision and how he got money to fly to Jordan though the family was economically backward.
Dayanand’s family informed the sleuths that Dayanand was circumcised by birth “due to sin the family committed when he was in womb”. Another youth among their relatives had the same problem, the parents told the sleuths.
About the money, the team was told that Dayanand had formed an organisation and its members paid him Rs 18,000 for his air ticket. The team also questioned the members of the organisation Dayanand had founded and his brother Dileep.
The sleuths already clarified that Dayanand was not being treated as a suspect, but gathering details.It is being said that Dayanand was brought to Bidar and locked up in an undsiclosed location.
