Parbhani: NCP leader and deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday termed all the five constituent parties that form "Mahayuti" (NDA) in Maharashtra as "destructive ghosts".
"These five partners have formed alliance to contest polls not for any constructive but for the destructive purpose. They have nothing to do with the problems faced by common people," Ajit said while canvassing for NCP nominee Vijay Bhamle who filed his nomination for Parbhani seat on Tuesday.
Mahayuti comprises BJP, Shiv Sena, RPI (A) led by Ramdas Athawale, Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna of Raju Shetty and Rashtriya Samaj Paksha of Mahadev Jankar.
Bhamle is taking on sitting Shiv Sena MLA and NDA nominee Sanjay Jadhav in polls. Jadhav also filed his nomination papers on Tuesday.
"Only Congress-NCP front leaders and none of NDA leaders have visited farms across the state where hailstorms and unseasonal rain damaged standing crop of farmers," Ajit said, adding the UPA has provided financial assistance to farmers whenever they were hit by any natural calamity.
