KOCHI: Though the Kochi Corporation is heading successfully towards e-governance, the improper maintenance of the Corporation’s official website is causing difficulties for those register their grievances.Though there are email ids specified on the Corporation website for the public to file complaints and grievances, the mails send to these ids are bouncing. “Even the mails send to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor are bouncing. The Corporation should look into this issue seriously,” said R Umesh, a medical representative.He said that a separate section for the public to register their complaints and grievances should be included in the site. The official website of the Kochi Corporation, www.corporationofcochin.net, at present provide the necessary information, including the list of councillors and other local body officials. “We are not able to send emails to the Mayor at [email protected] and Deputy Mayor at [email protected],” Umesh said.Meanwhile, a top Corporation official said that the site is properly maintained and the issue with the mails will be rectified soon. “Once the e-governance project is completed we will be able to bring all the major services offered by the civic body online. This include utility management, property tax, registration of births and deaths, water supply and other utilities, grievances and suggestions and building approvals. A separate session will be included on the website for the public to register their grievances and complaints,” the official said.
