Pune: The main accused, who apparently was absconding since Friday in the rape case of an MBA student, has been arrested last night. The accused has been identified as Subhash Bhonsle.
Bhonsle was picked up by the police on Friday night. This is the third arrest in Thursday's gangrape case.
An MBA graduate was gangraped by three people in Pune on Thursday.
Pune Police have earlier arrested two of them, who have been identified as Ranjeet Shahaji Gade (25) and Ganesh Uttam Kamle (26).
The MBA student took a lift from strangers in Wakad and they drove her around the city for eight hours, took turns raping her. They finally dropped her at Hingewadi at midnight on Thursday.
The victim registered an FIR at the Hingewadi police station. Police says the victim, who is married and hails from Nagpur, had returned from US just a fortnight ago. Her medical examination was conducted at the Y B Chavan hospital.
