Prime Minister today reviewed the agricultural production performance.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday reviewed the agricultural production performance and asked the department to work for a second green revolution.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) after reviewing agricultural performance has asked the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to come up with the following measures:
1. Enhance storage capacity by 150 million tonnes
2. Fast track warehouse development in 19 states
3. Focus on pulse and oil seed production; 60,000 villages identified
4. Create 4 million tonnes of storage by 2012.
