MLAs sons held for drunk driving

Khanapur BJP MLA Prahlad Remani’s sons have been arrested for rash driving in an inebriated state and also for creating nuisance on the Khanapur highway on Friday.

According to police, the arrested are identified as Sharad and Pratap who were caught by the highway patrolling squad.

It was alleged that when the patrol tried to stop their vehicle, the accused created a ruckus on the road.

However, reliable sources stated that both the accused had assaulted three police personnel, including assistant sub-inspector Mathpathi and constables Basavaraj Navakude and Umesh Javali.

The duo were arrested by police and produced before the Khanapur Court, which slapped them with a fine of Rs 1,000 each for drunken driving and the trouble caused.

Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil told Express that both were arrested under the Karnataka Police Act and were presented before the court
