Mumbai: Mumbai faced its coldest day in 46 years when the city recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees early on Wednesday morning.
The cold weather has come as a surprise to Mumbaikars used to the tropical climate. But the people are finding their own ways to deal with it.
So the short-skirts have been put inside the cupboard and it is the Pashmina shawl that's the latest fashion statement in the city's campuses.
"We flaunt what we have. Our winter wardrobes are out now. We can wear shawls now," a college student Nani says.
And a hot cup of tea has become the coolest drink.
"The temperature in Mumbai has been quite low these days so its refreshing to have tea in this weather," another student Happy says.
But staying outdoors is the best bet. So people have been enjoying the sun sitting out with friends and say that a little tan is better than braving the chill.
"The breeze is too cool. The sun is giving us warmth," says Nishta.
So the Mumbaikars are making the most of the cold weather.
