CHENNAI: Former Director of Fire & Rescue Services R Nataraj has moved the Madras High Court to vacate the stay granted by it on the orders of the TN Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). Originally, challenging the appointment of Letika Saran as DGP, Nataraj had approached the CAT, which on May 31 last set aside the appointment order dated November 27, 2010. Aggrieved, Letika moved the HC, which on May 31 stayed the orders of the CAT. In his counter affidavit, Nataraj alleged that Letika, in her writ petition, had suppressed information relating to her correct service details. A division bench asked Nataraj’s counsel as to what was the right after retirement. “What is the right of an employee to claim a position after superannuation?’’ the bench asked and granted three weeks time to the government to file its counter.
