News briefs: Jaipur-Mathura special train to run from August 4
Seeing the heavy load of passengers, the Railway authorities have decided to run a special train from Jaipur to Mathura. The train will run regularly from August 4 till October 1 to clear the passenger rush. The special train will make a total of 59 rounds. North Western Railways spokesperson Tarun Jain said, “We have decided to start a special train from Jaipur to Mathura. The train will run from Jaipur everyday at 3.20 pm and reach Mathura at 8.10 pm. On its return journey, it will depart from Mathura at 8.25 am and reach Jaipur 12.50 pm.” The train will have 18 compartments. It will halt at Gandhi Nagar, Bandikui, Dausa, Alwar, Brijnagar stations, he said.

Jaipur: Hospital’s refusal to admit victim sparks protest

A young man allegedly died after having a heart attack in Vaishali Nagar on Saturday night. Passersby took him to nearby Global Heart Institute where doctors declared him dead. However, the family members of the deceased kept the body in the middle of the road and protested which resulted in a traffic jam. Vaishali Nagar police had to rush to the spot after which protesters could be pacified. Authorities at Global Heart Institute said, “A young man was brought by some people at 10.30 pm. Doctors said he had already died one hour back, but protesters did not listen to anyone and blocked the road.”

Udaipur: Sukhadia University gets new gym for students and faculty

For ensuring the physical fitness of the players the sports board of the Sukhadia University Udiapur, has purchased new equipment with a gym at the MB Ground. The new gym will be inaugurated on August 10, for which the latest equipment and machines are being installed. Secretary Dr Deepinder Singh Chauhan said, “In this new gym the latest machines have been installed for fitness of the players and these machines which can be used by all players.”

Jaipur: JCTSL completes the recruitment process of drivers, conductors

Now the Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL) will have its own drivers and conductors. The recruitment process and the documentation work have been completed and the newly recruited drivers and conductors would join from August 5. These include the female conductor and it would be for the first time that women conductor will be seen in the low-floor buses. The JCTSL announced the result on July 15 in which 1,026 conductors have been selected including 269 female conductors. The drivers’ results are expected to be announced byAugust 15. As many as 760 drivers are to be appointed.

Jaipur: Govt sets up ‘dedicated fund’ to boost metro project’s funding

To boost funding for the Metro project, the UDH department has set up ‘Jaipur Metro Dedicated Fund’. The Rajasthan Transport Infrastructure Development Fund will provide 25% share in the Metro fund. Department’s additional chief secretary GS Sandhu said that the provision of infrastructure fund is meant to improve the transport facilities and renovate the existing infrastructure.
