BANGALORE: Extending the deadline for the second time, the Lokayukta Special Court on Monday directed the Lokayukta police to file their final investigation report against Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani on January 13, in the illegal denotification case.Earlier, on October 24, Lokayukta Special Court Judge N K Sudheendra Rao had ordered the anti-corruption agency cops to submit their report on November 16. Then the Lokayukta police informed the court that investigation was in progress and they were collecting more information related to the allegation, and sought a time extension of two months. But the judge had asked them to file it on December 12. Earlier, Alam Pasha, an entrepreneur, had alleged that Nirani had misused his office and illegally denotified KIADB land in Devanahalli and Dobbaspet.Balakrishna case adjournedThe Lokayukta Special Court adjourned hearing on the disproportionate assets case against H D Balakrishna Gowda, a retired KAS officer and the eldest son of H D Deve Gowda, till January 16.The HC had given an eight weeks’ stay on the proceedings of the case. On September 22, S N Balakrishna, a retired assistant manager of Vishveshwaraiah Iron and Steel Factory in Bhadravathi, had filed a complaint against Balakrishna Gowda of possessing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Gowda was charged with possessing Rs 70 crore.
