HYDERABAD: Home minister Sabita Indra Reddy on Monday expressed hope that the written examinations meant for recruitment of SIs in the state would be held soon with chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy representing the need for deletion of clause 14 F from the presidential order. The state government had proposed to fill 37,000 posts in the police department which included recruitment of SIs and constables and accordingly proposed to hold a written examination for recruitment to 1,293 SI posts in November last year. But Telangana activists, particularly the student JAC, was against the holding of the examination without the government declaring Hyderabad as part of Zone VI. As declaring this required deletion of clause 14 F from the presidential order which could only be done at central level, the government postponed the examinations.Speaking to Express, the home minister said there was now a distinct possibility of holding the examination since the chief minister himself had taken up the issue with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in his recent Delhi visit.
