BARIPADA: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday exhorted the youths to join politics and become the harbingers of change. A helicopter carrying the Gandhi scion landed here around 3.20 pm amidst tight security and inclement weather. Rahul addressed girls at the indoor stadium and male youths at outdoor stadium in Baripada. Many had come from Balasore and Mayurbhanj to participate in the interaction.
Addressing a gathering of more than a thousand girls, including collegegoers, he said the time had come when more and more youths should take active part in politics. He said that it was the only means to solve many problems plaguing the country, including corruption. There is a need to raise voice against illpractices, he added.
