No takers for centres housing plan

ERODE: Even as the Union Government announced a scheme to promote housing facility for the urban poor in the last budget, none from Erode have availed it due to lack of cooperation from bankers in the district.Many banks cited that the area was not under their area. Some cited the long repayment period to refuse loans. Some wanted pattas in the beneficiary’s name and did not accept joint pattas.
