BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday refused to extend the interim bail for former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on a complaint alleging illegalities in denotification of government land in 2007 when he was the CM.Hearing the application for bail extension, Justice K N Keshvanarayana said, “It does not matter if he is a former CM or the present CM. Nobody is above the law... if anyone has not committed any offence, why he has to be afraid of attending court proceedings?.. Let him attend the court and we will take up the matter when the duration ends.”The HC on April 16 granted six-week interim bail to Kumaraswamy, and the bail term will end on May 31. The Lokayukta Court has issued summons to him to appear before it on May 31. In his complaint, one Mahadevaswamy had alleged that Kumaraswamy denotified 3.8 acres in Thanisandra village at the behest of former minister Chennigappa though the BDA had acquired it and formed sites for Arkavathy Layout.Case Adjourned in Lokayukta Court:Meanwhile, the Lokayukta Court here on Wednesday posted to May 30 the hearing of the case against Kumaraswamy in connection with denotification of Thanisandra land.Hearing of Land Cases Against BSY PostedThe Lokayukta Court on Wednesday adjourned four land denotification cases against B S Yeddyurappa till June 30. The cases related to denotification of land sites at Arakere, Geddalahalli, Devarachikkanahalli, Rachenahalli, Uttarahalli, Chitradurga and Hosadurga.Announce MSP for Mango: HC to StateThe High Court on Wednesday directed the state to announce minimum support price (MSP) for mango in two days. This was in response to a petition filed by the Kolar District Mango Growers and Sellers (Farmers) Association, alleging lack of basic facilities at the APMC market, delayed payments and involvement of middlemen in the purchase of mangoes. The matter was adjourned till May 28.
