BANGALORE: State JD (S) chief H D Kumaraswamy on Friday lambasted former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and CID DGP Shankar Bidari for hatching a political conspiracy to implicate former prime minister H D Deve Gowda in the alleged scam while awarding contracts in the Upper Krishna Project."No truth can come out with an officer like Shankar Bidari heading the investigating team. Everyone knows his character and track-record and what he has done in the past. Bidari is vengeful and is known for taking revenge. I will expose his nefarious deeds with documents in the next coming days,” Kumaraswamy told reporters here.According to him, Yeddyurappa and Bidari were making all efforts to politically finish off Gowda and his family but none of them are perturbed by such intimidatory tactics. The JD(S) chief posed a barrage of queries during his address.“I demand an enquiry into the questionable role being played by both Yeddyurappa and Bidari in filing a FIR on the issue of awarding contracts in UKP. While the so-called scam has taken place about 15 years ago, the Cabinet headed by Yeddyurappa decided to refer the issue to the CID in December 2010. What was the CID doing for all these 10 months? Why suddenly Bidari has become active and went ahead in filing the FIR? Whom is he pleasing and for what? Is it to become the DG & IGP next month?”He continued, “I am neither agitated nor afraid of the probe. We have faced many such probes in the past. However, the CID seems to have suddenly sprung into action when the High Court exonerated me and my wife in two cases, which smacks of a political conspiracy.”Kumaraswamy urged Bidari to place before the people the course of investigation conducted by the CID from Decemeber 2010 till date."All that the CID has done these 10 months is to translate the complaint of one Somashekara Reddy from Kannada to English and file an FIR. That’s all. I also demand that the opinion given by the chief secretary to the cabinet on the issue of UKP contract be made public.”He added as a parting shot: “Let us see in the next coming days who will be where, including Bidari.”
