HYDERABAD: If you are interested in numismatics and would love to have in your collection, some of the rarest of the rare coins, currency notes and stamps, this is an opportunity you wouldn’t want to miss.The third National Numismatic Exhibition has come to the city! The expo-cum-fair will be inaugurated on Friday at the Maruti Garden Convention Centre besides the Om International Hotel, Lakdi-ka-pul.The Marudhar Arts from Bangalore will auction old coins, stamps and notes on Friday and Saturday at the venue and online too on their website, www.maruauction.com.Among the coins up for sale is a one rupee silver coin (30.55 mm to 31 mm) weighing 11.66 gm dating back to 1840 issued by William III. It’s being put up for auction for the first time and the starting bid for the same is Rs 12 lakh! Some of the rarest stamps, coins and currency notes of different countries will also be on display at the threeday exhibition.Dr Raja Reddy, senior neurosurgeon at Apollo Hospitals, will inaugurate the expo which will be open from 10 a.m to 8 p.m till May 20.Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, Rajender Maru, CEO of Marudhar Arts, said, “Our primary aim is to save our national heritage.” Marudhar Arts is mainly into British India coins and banknotes, Indian and foreign coins, currency notes and stamps. “Our business policy is to always provide the best quality materials and greatest customer service. We have also been in mail order business for a number of years now,”Rajender Maru said.The exhibition will also showcase rare Hyderabad State stamps, coins and currency notes.
