The GHMC commissioner M T Krishna Babu directed the zonal commissioners and as well as the engineering wing to expedite the pending works in view of the ensuing of Conference of Party (CoP) summit. He also asked the additional commissioner (parks) to take up works related to enhance greenery on either side of the roads from Aramghar to Shamshabad immediately.
The commissioner, along with senior officials, inspected the on-going works with regard to CoP-11 at Aramghar, Shivarampally, Gaganpahad and Shamshabad on Monday. He interacted with officials and concerned contractors and asked them work at a fast pace.
Officials inspected the footpaths stretch from Sarojini Devi eye hospital, Mehdipatnam to Masab tank road. They found encroachments on footpaths and leaning tree branches which are obstructing the free flow of pedestrians, parking of two wheelers on the footpaths.
The commissioner directed the concerned zonal commissioner to conduct a special drive duly coordinating with police officials to curb the menace.
He also pointed out that though footpaths works have been sanctioned long back, the works have not kick started yet. He asked the contractor to complete works in next three days failing which he will be blacklisted.
During the inspection, the officials also took note of roads dug by M/S Vodafone without prior permission near Jalagam Vengal Rao Park, Banjara Hills. The superintendent engineer has been asked to impose huge penalty on the concerned company.
The on-going works for CoP -11 at Kavuri hills junction, road widening at Ayyappa society, central medians near Shilparamam, painting works to mini Charminar near Hitech city were are also inspected. The concerned contractor at Hitech city was asked to complete works in next three days. The work of laying of roads from mini Charminar to entire stretch up to HICC were also inspected.
