BANGALORE: The city came to a grinding halt when various sections of the society and political parties took out rally to mark their protest against the state government which is ruled by the BJP. The party which is shattered by the dissidents and land denotification controversy, was rocked by another controversy. Ministers of the party were caught watching explicit video during the assembly session. The congress party used this as the platform and burnt the effigy of controversial ministers.The former mayor Ramchandrappa and BBMP opposition leader Udayshankar attacked the BJP party and said in chorus, “The party which came to power by saying it is the party with difference, has proved otherwise.” They demanded that this government should be dissolved. The Congress General Secretary to Karnataka Manjula Naidu asserted that, the BJP party has the history of mismanagement and bias towards women and watching porn during Assembly session is evidence that this party has no respect for women in particular. She further said, “From the time the party came to power it has been tarnishing women’s image. First it was MLA Raghupathi Bhat who’s wife committed suicide. Later, the then Minister Harthalu Halappa who represents Soraba constituency raped a friend’s wife, then came the nurse Jaylakshmi and Minister Renukacharya intimate picture controversy, and now Minister Laxman Savadi, CC Patil and Krishna Palemar have gone overboard with their cheap act of watching porn.” She further said that, the Congress party which had announced to take a state wide tour from march to up the ante against the BJP Government, will use this as one of their main issue.
